Heading to the Big Apple after camp? Here is our list of things you have to do!

So you’ve decided to go to camp and then spend your hard earned camp salary seeing some of the sites after camp is over, and NYC is one of them!

The Wild Packs team have been to New York more times than we could count of both hands. We’ve come up with a must see and do list of those all important spots and sites! Feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions!

Times Square- Love it or hate it Times Square is busy, loud and full of life. Bright lights, large crowds and normally street performers this area is always busy, even at 5 am! Whether you want to hit the shops, take a photo or buy cheap theatre tickets Times Square is one of those places you have to visit (even if you never go back again!).

Central Park- A place of relaxation and space in the heart of this busy city. Central Park spans over 800 acres. It has a zoo, lakes, ponds, play areas, a track to run, walk or cycle around, fountains, ice skating rinks, a carousel and more! You can spend hours exploring the park and all it has to offer!

Fifth Avenue- New York has some of the most amazing shops and you’ll find a whole host of them on 5th Avenue. If you’re a shopper you can look forward to will be some retail therapy after camp is over.

Rochefeller Centre/The Empire State Building- No trip to NYC is complete without a trip up either of these buildings. On a clear day you will see for miles. The views over NYC, into New York State, Brooklyn and New Jersey are something else. Both buildings get busy so try to get there early or late and beat those crowds (although sunset is an amazing time to go).

The Statue of Liberty- A photo everyone will want. You can go on tours to get a little closer but if you’re watching your money we would recommend taking the free Staten Island ferry (although there isn’t a lot to see on the island, it’s probably not worth getting off the ferry) where you will get clear views of the French designed statue and the rest of downtown New York.

See a show- Broadway has some of the most amazing shows. If you’re a fan of musicals, plays, ballets then Broadway is the place to visit. Check online before you go to see what’s running.
